Brief Introduction of Jie YU:

Jie YU is studying at Tongji University as a PhD candidate and is a member of the Research Center of Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Technology. She graduated from Central South University in 2011 and went to Tongji University to continue her postgraduate study. She has been a visiting research student at Queen’s University during 2014 to 2015.
Her recent research focuses on the algorithms of classification, such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forests (RF). The optimized SVMs have been successfully applied in the recognition of cyanobacteria bloom, spartinaalterniflora and vegetation in wetland. Until now Jie YU has published 4 academic articles on the academic journals in China and abroad and made several oral presentations on international conferences and workshops.
During her three months' period research visit at University of Stuttgart she focuses on the topic "A study of water pollution recognition based on multi-feature space with remote sensing technique" in the frame of DAAD Thematic Network.
