Brief Introduction of Prof. Dr. Wen-Bin SHEN:

Prof. Dr. Wen-Bin SHEN teaches at the Department of Geophysics, School of Geodesy and Geomatics at Wuhan University. 1982, 1985 and 1996 he obtained BS, MS at Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping (China), and PhD at Graz Technical University (Austria), respectively. His current position is Dean and distinguished Professor at Department of Geophysics, School of Geodesy and Geomatics at Wuhan University. Prof. Dr. Wen-Bin SHEN is member of EGU, AGU and editorial boards of Geomatics and Information Science of Wuhan University, Journal of Geodesy and Geodynamics, Science of Surveying and Mapping as well as Vice Director of Council of Hubei Astronomical Society, Council member of Hubei Seismological Society. He received an honor of the 2015 Heiskanen Award, issued by Ohio State University.
Prof. Dr. Wen-Bin SHEN is very active in international scientific meetings. As LOC chair, he organized around 10 international workshops. He led or leads 8 NSFC projects, took/takes part in around 10 national projects, and has more than 200 publications (including presentations at various meetings). His research interests include: Gravity theory and applications; temporal gravity fields; Earth rotation and global change; Earth’s free oscillation; Relativistic geodesy and GNSS applications.
Prof. Wen-Bin Shen is currently a member of the project “Modern Geodetic Space Techniques for Global Change Monitoring”. Under this project, he will focus on the study of ice melting, sea level rise, and Earth expansion.
